Beth Johnson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sara "Beth" Johnson. She fought a difficult battle with cancer but never stopped impacting the lives of everyone she met. Beth will be fondly remembered by her loving husband Derek Heymans of Winchester and her mother Sharon "Elaine" Johnson of Shanly. She was predeceased by her father Keith Johnson and grandparents Keith and Lila Barkley and Carl and Elvia Johnson. She will be remembered with much love by her father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Carol Heymans of Winchester as well as her sister-in-law Tracey Heymans (Jeff Day) of Greely. She will be fondly remembered by Derek's grandmother Sheila Crowder (the late Keith). Beth was a wonderful 'auntie' to Nikki and Holly and she will be fondly remembered by many family members; aunts, uncles and cousins as well as a multitude of friends and acquaintances. Beth worked many years for the township of Edwardsburg-Cardinal fulfilling various roles from working at the rink and canteen in Spencerville to becoming a librarian at the Spencerville branch of the Edwardsburgh-Cardinal library. She loved visiting farmers markets and poking around making friends along the way. In recent years, she developed a passion for baking and won several prizes at a couple of the local fairs. From her baking endeavors she was able to donate emergency supply boxes to the house of Lazarus (Mountain) last Christmas.
As per Beth's wishes there will be a celebration of life BBQ (pot luck) on July 27, 2024 from 1 - 5 pm at her home at 12417 County Rd 43, Winchester. Everyone is welcome! Beth's family would like to thank the Dr's and especially the nurses in both the emergency room and the 2nd floor nursing team at Winchester District Memorial Hospital for their excellent care of Beth (and the family) during her hospital stay. Beth had a passion for helping people who were in difficult situations, so in honour of her wishes, donations in Beth's memory may be made to the food bank at the House of Lazarus or the Dundas Community Food Share. If you are making your donation online or by cheque directly to the charity, please include the following note with your gift "please notify the family". Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com.
