Courageously and peacefully at  the Kingston General Hospital on Friday January 17,2025, surrounded by his loved ones.  Brian Mills of Brockville ON, at the age of 57.  Son of the late Bill and Jean Mills of Cardinal ON. Dearly beloved fiance of Joann Primeau and second father to Zach Primeau (Abby), Caleb Primeau (Dayna) and Santana Philips (Robbie).  Loving brother to Lori Merkley (Brian).  Special uncle to Liam and Aidan Merkley; Popa B to Ruby and Colson.  Grandfather to Autumn and Jace. Brian was born in Brockville ON and raised in Cardinal.  He became an RPN in 1988 and was employed at Brockville Mental Health Centre until his passing.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting.  He was known for his loving, kind nature and quick-witted sense of humour.  He had a love for music, collecting albums and rock memorabilia and attending many concerts over the years. Brian was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer in 2021.  Throughout his fight he was brave and maintained a positive outlook.  He was well supported and treasured his many friendships from work and people who grew up with him.  He especially established a strong connection with his friend Dave who he described as a brother to him.  Dave visited Brian weekly and texted him frequently when he was ill. A special thankyou to RN's Beth and Emma of Davies 4 Stepdown ICU at Kingston General Hospital for their exemplary compassionate care, not only to Brian, but to the family as well. Family and friend are invited to Roselawn Memorial gardens for a graveside service on Friday, June 6 at 11am followed by a celebration of life at the R.C.L. Branch 105 in Cardinal from 1-4pm.  Donations ot the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home Cardinal.  If you are making your donation online or by cheque directly to the charity, please include the following note with your gift "please notify the family".  Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com
