Connie King
I am writing this to let everyone know that my wife of 54 years, Connie King (nee Adams) passed away peacefully at the Wellington House Nursing Home in Prescott on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, with her family by her side.
We were married on February 2, 1973 and we had a very good life together. Connie had many great attributes; honesty, empathy, reliability and respectfulness just to name a few. Connie could make a good day better and on a bad day put things into perspective.
As many of you know Connie loved to travel, listen to music, dance and she especially enjoyed family functions. She also enjoyed the odd margarita or a good glass of wine.
To her nieces and nephews, she loved you all and she always said that you were the kids we never had. I hope that you all realized that you held a special place in her heart.
Connie would want me to thank the doctors and staff at the Brockville General Hospital for the excellent care they gave her during her short stay there, but most of all she would want me to thank the amazing staff at the Wellington House for the exceptional care they provided to her. There are too many of you to mention and for fear of missing someone I will leave it at that. You treated her so well and for that I say thank you so much, you made her a part of your family.
Con, you made my life so much better for 54 years, I love you so much and as you always said to me "love you to". Rest peacefully and for one more time "I LOVE YOU"
Connie is survived by me, her husband Steve, her siblings Dan Adams (Debbie) of Cardinal, Chuck Adams (June) of Crystal Rock and Ruth Hutton (Paul) of Pittston and her in-laws John Kirkwood (late Shirley) of Iroquois, Karen Lawrence of Maynard, Krista Holmes (Steve) of Maynard and Larry Jackson of Maitland. She was predeceased by her parents John and Dorene Adams, her sister Heather Jackson, her brother Terry Adams, her father and mother-in-law Bud and Irene King and her brother-in-law David King. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Arrangements
A Celebration of Connie's life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Cardinal on Sunday, June 28th from 1-4 p.m. Interment of cremated remains will be at the Maynard Cemetery.
