Obituary

With profound sadness, shock, and heavy hearts we share the news of our beloved Father's passing on Thursday November 13th at the age of 76, within weeks of a diagnosis of terminal gastric cancer.

Loved forever by his wife Claire (nee Lascelles) of 53 years; his children Jeff (Jessica), Brad (Lindsey), and Jennifer (Allan); his grandchildren Devon, Sam, William, Allison, Leah, Noah, and Stella; his sister Lisa Taylor, his brothers Peter Taylor (Debbie) and Robert Taylor (Frankie) and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Stella Taylor (nee Irvine).

Whether in the classroom, on the dance floor, or at the orchard, Dennis will be fondly remembered as a natural and dedicated teacher. During his over 30 year teaching career, Mr. T impacted countless youth with his enthusiasm for learning, his funny yet no-nonsense style, and his love of cookies!

Dennis was a big picture thinker and the visionary and co-founder of Cannamore Orchard where he continued his passion for learning and teaching. Here he inspired his staff, volunteers, and his own children to work hard, to carry oneself with integrity, to give back to the community, and to joke and have fun along the way.

Dennis had a deep passion for ballroom dancing. In the last 15+ years he again touched many lives through his dance lessons and creation of the Chesterville Dancers. His dedication to teaching dance and tireless efforts in growing the network and improving the dance hall in Chesterville have allowed hundreds of people of all ages to experience the joy of dancing and enriched their lives profoundly.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Dennis' life with stories, jokes, and memories on Friday November 21st at the Morewood Community Center from 4-7 p.m. Memories will be shared at 5:30 p.m.

Donations to Winchester Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. If you are making your donation online or by cheque directly to the charity, please include the following note with your gift "please notify the family".  Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com.
