Floyd Johnston

Passed away peacefully at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, Floyd Johnston of Avonmore, age 86.  Loving husband of Donalda Johnston (nee McRae) for almost 61 years.  Loving father of Jeff Johnston (Charlene) of Winchester, Sandra Baribeau (Ron) of Cornwall, Teresa Flannigan (John) of Cornwall, Ricky Johnston (Laura) of Waterloo and Kathleen Dickenson (Ricky) of Kanata.  Dear brother of Pearl Hanna (late Ernie) of Ottawa.  Floyd will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Jenna, Jay, Austin, Amber, Mackenzie, Delaney, Noel and Kendra.  He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Verna Johnston (nee Hartel), his sisters Jean Heatherington (Len), Lillian Johnstone (Garnet), Ina Prodnick (Ron), his brother George Johnston (Bonnie) and his grandson Joshua Flannigan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements

A private family funeral service will be held at St. James United Church in Avonmore.  Interment will follow at Paul's Hill Cemetery.  Donations to St. James United Church or the Ottawa Heart Institute would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.  If you are making your donation online or by cheque directly to the charity, please include the following note with your gift "please notify the family".  Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com.   The family would like to thank the staff at the Cornwall Community Hospital for the excellent, compassionate care that they provided to both Floyd and his family.
