Folkert "Frank" DeVries

Belonging body and soul, in life and in death, to his faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ, Frank DeVries of South Mountain, age 87, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Gillies). Predeceased by his first wife, Edith DeVries (nee Sikma). Loving father of Ellen (Rick) Douma of Iroquois, Oscar (Linda) of Manilla, Rick (Tanya) of Spencerville, Garnet (Dorean) of Merrickville, and Tina (Rob) Zersch of South Mountain and step-father of Joann Bell of Ottawa. Frank will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Christopher (Amy), Craig (Andrea), Nicole (Chris), Ryan (Kyla), and Jenna; Curtis (Liz), Jack, Lindsay, and Sean; Rourke (Samira), Slate (Megann), Laird, and Gretchen; Morgan (Bryn), Jared, Karly, Sierra (Jason), and Joel; Connor (Katherine), Taylor, Abby, and Carter; and Shannon (Khoi) and Miranda (Josh). Also survived by 17 great grandchildren. Frank is survived by four sisters and was predeceased by one brother in the Netherlands. He is also survived by numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements

Friends may call at the Community Christian Reformed Church, Dixons Corners, on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment to follow at Spruce Haven Cemetery, Brinston. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Ontario or the Kidney Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the Marsden & McLaughlin Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
