Passed away peacefully at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital in Alexandria on Friday, August 25, 2023, Freida Barkley (nee Durant) of Winchester, age 89.  Beloved wife of the late Clifford Barkley.  Loving mother of Raymond Barkley (Barbara) of Inkerman, Janice Brown (Ralph) of Ottawa, Gordon Barkley (Lorraine) of Berwick and Donna Leach (John) of Winchester.  Freida will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Tim Brown (Lisa), Scott Barkley (Tracey), Tania Wall (Jason), Tammy Boyd (Shawn), Brent Barkley (Jana), Jason McMahon (Gen), Kelly McMahon (late Maurice), Tyler Leach (Nicky), Travis Leach, Katrina Leach (Evan) and her great-grandchildren Cassidy, Kendra, Curtis, Adam, Liam, Ethan, McKenna, Hunter, Carter, Allyson, Katelyn, Sophie, Emilie, Kaden, Brandon, Easton, Baby Durant and 1 great, great-grandson Westyn.  She was predeceased by her grandson Trevor Barkley and her great-granddaughter Morgan Wall.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements

A Celebration of Freida's life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Chesterville on Saturday, September 2nd from 1-4 p.m.  Private interment will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery.  Donations to Maxville Manor or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.  Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com.  If you are making your donation online or by cheque directly to the charity, please include the following note with your gift "please notify the family".
