George Dowson

Passed away peacefully at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Monday, October 12, 2026, George Dowson of Morrisburg, age 86.  Beloved husband of the late Donna Dowson (nee Thompson) for over 60 years.  Loving father of Jamie Dowson (Crystal) of Morrisburg, Diana Boyd (Brent) of Iroquois and Ian Dowson (Rhonda) of Morrisburg.  Dear brother of Marjorie Buhlman (Bill) of Toronto, Bob Dowson (Marilyn) of Newcastle, Barbara Yantze (late Elmer) of Morrisburg and Mike Dowson of Vancouver.  George will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Sarrah, Caitlin (Othman), Ashley, Cody (Josie), Kendra (Chris), Shawn (Alexis), Mackenzie (C.J.) and his great-grandchildren Hunter, Jackson, Landon and Grayson.  He was predeceased by his parents George and Elsie Dowson (nee Cooley) and his brother Doug Dowson.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements

Friends may call at the Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Sunday, October 18th from 2-4 p.m.  A Masonic Service will be held at 1:30 p.m.  A Memorial service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Morrisburg on Monday, October 19th at 11 a.m.  A luncheon will follow.  Inurnment will be at Iroquois Point Cemetery.  Donations to the Royal Canadian Legion in Morrisburg would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
