Gilda Demelo

Passed away peacefully at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Monday, June 1, 2026, Gilda Demelo (nee Pereira) of Williamsburg, age 90.  Beloved wife of the late Jose Demelo. Loving mother of Francine (Jose), Gilda (John), Joseph, Tonie (Tom), Lawrence, Suzzette "Lisa" (Marc) and Clara. Gilda will be sadly missed by her 2 grandsons Philip Soares and Brandon Diotte and her beloved dog Arthur. She was predeceased by 2 sisters and 1 infant brother. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Arrangements

A private family funeral service will be held at the Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Donations to the Winchester Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and doctors in the Intensive Care Units at the Winchester Hospital, Montfort Hospital and the Cornwall General Hospital for the excellent care that they provided to Gilda.
