Hilda "Doreen" Workman

Peacefully at the Wellington House Nursing Home, Prescott on Monday, January12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Doreen Workman (nee Simzer) of Prescott at the age of 96. Dearly beloved wife of the late Don Workman and dear companion of the late John Phillips. Loving mother of Marjorie Veltkamp (Casey) of Iroquois, Donna Donnelly (late Bob Kirk) of Beaverton, Marie Selleck (Randy) of Spencerville and Murray Workman (Lisa) of Brockville. Dear mother-in-law of Carol Workman of Spencerville, Sandy Workman (Jeff Nussey) of Iroquois and Melody McCarger-Toupin of Spencerville. Predeceased by sons Doug, Greg and Garth Workman, her sisters Florence Cowie, Muriel Barnett, Dorothy Dillabough and Rita Balday. Doreen will be fondly remembered by her 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements

Friends may call at the Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home in Cardinal, on Friday, January 16, from 5-8pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church in  Heckston on Saturday January 17 at 11am. Donations to St. Andrew's United Church, St. Paul's United Church or the Wellington House would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
