Jean-Guy Desormeaux

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean-Guy Desormeaux on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, at the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of the late Cécile Allaire. Loving father of Jean-Marc (Nathalie Ménard), Sylvain and his youngest son the late Joel.  Proud grandfather to Joshua and dear uncle of Daniel Allaire who was like a son to him.
Born into a large loving family with 6 brothers and 4 sisters which included Marcel Desormeaux (Carole Lefebvre), the late Gerard Desormeaux (late Jeannette), Gilles Desormeaux (Lucille Landry), Pauline VanKessel (the late Peter Sr.), Roger Desormeaux (Madeleine Laplante), the late Madeleine Chabot (René), Serge Desormeaux (Lorraine Savage), Yvon Desormeaux (Deborah Wilson), Suzanne Desormeaux (Steve Poirier), Joanne Latour (Denis). He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
For over 50 years, Jean-Guy was a big part of the Crysler community with his butcher shop business (Desormeaux Meats).  He served as president of the Optimus club for many years  and helped gather the community together.

Thank you father for all the wonderful times we spent together. We will miss you greatly.
