John Portelance

Passed away peacefully at home, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, on Thursday, October 31, 2024, John Portelance of North Gower, age 42. Cherished son of Howard and Lynda Portelance and Karla Mercado.  Loving partner of Jennifer Pilon.  Father of Austin, Renee, Taylia and Sage.  Stepfather of Shannon Boomhower (Wes Alexander), Grayson Boomhower, Paige Boomhower (Josh Savard)and Shyann Boomhower (Skyler Keeler). Brother of Tami Portelance.  Son-in-law of Cheryl and John Pilon.  He was predeceased by his grandparents Henry, Jackie, Joe, Heidi and his uncles Rudy and Gerry.  John will be fondly remembered by his aunt Cindy Portelance (Tim Coville) and his cousins Steven (Charlie), Randy, Jason (Mali), Danny (Sufia) and Christina (Rae).

John was a hard working, fun loving man who enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family, his friends and his beloved pets.

Funeral Arrangements

A Celebration of John's life will be held at the Dixons Corners Community Centre, 10951 Cook Road, Dixons Corners on Saturday, November 16th from 4-9 p.m.  Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.  If you are making your donation online or by cheque directly to the charity, please include the following note with your gift "please notify the family".  Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com.
