Obituary

SELLECK, Lukas Keith Lindsay passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.

Throughout his 5 years, Lukas personified pure life … pure love. He loved everyone who had the fortune to cross his path, never judging or finding fault. Fearless of anything, Lukas lived life full of energy and passion for the things that brought him joy; his family, fire trucks, rides on the lawnmower, fast cars … anything that moved and made noise … and the Grinch! Lukas always smiled and his incredibly sweet laugh was so infectious, you couldn't help but laugh along with him.

Lukas graduated from senior kindergarten in June. He loved school. Waiting in anticipation for the van to arrive each morning, Lukas was always excited when he saw Lee.  Lukas held a special bond with his adored 'Mr. T' and each of the amazing Educational Assistants who worked with him. The caring staff at St. Mark's Catholic School will always be remembered by his family.

Lukas leaves behind his loving parents, Mitch and Brooke Selleck, cherished siblings, Danika, Jaxson and Alivia, his Nana and Poppa (Kelly and Chris Kelly) Grandma and Grandpa (Sally and Lindsay Selleck) Aunt Megan Kelly, Aunt Kellee Selleck , Uncle Nick Selleck, Aunt Tayler(Ben) Stoddard, Aunt Mariah and Great Grandfather Ed (Marjorie)Chajkowski . Missing their cousin and playmate are Kasen, Lucy, Maci and Hazel. Lukas was predeceased by his Uncle Ryan Selleck, and Great Grandparents Jean & Peter Kelly, Yvonne & Gordon King, Joan & Carl Selleck and Nancy Chajkowski.

In life, Lukas was a caring and gentle soul who gave up freely anything he held to make someone else happy. In death, Lukas's organs changed the lives of children he never met. May his spirit continue on in all of us who loved him dearly and those he touched without knowing what a truly special boy he was.

The family would like to acknowledge the outstanding efforts and care given at both the Brockville General Hospital and CHEO, and the neighbours, first responders and paramedics.  Donations to CHEO in memory of Lukas will be gratefully acknowledged.

A private family service will take place at a later date. A Celebration of Lukas's Life will be held on Monday, July 31 at the Roebuck Community Centre, 7024 County Rd. 18 Spencerville from 2 – 6 p.m.

Arrangements are being looked after by Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home in Cardinal. Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com
