Margaret Valcour

Passed away peacefully at the Broadview Nursing Home in Smiths Falls on Friday May 8, 2026, Margaret Valcour (nee Ogilvie) of Kemptville, age 87.  Beloved wife of the late Don Valcour.  Loving mother of Randi Gilmer (Jennifer) of Spain and Michael "Youppi" Valcour (Karen) of Kemptville. Margaret will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Ryan McDougall, Maggie McDougall, Nichole Moore and her great-granddaughter Ellie McDougall.  Dear sister of Betty Grant (late Hunter) of Brockville, Judy Hook of Brockville and Donnie Ogilvie (Joanne) of Brockville.  She was predeceased by her father Dwight Ogilvie (late Bea) and mother Elsie Manuell (Herman), her daughter Heather McDougall-Hughes, her siblings Dale Ogilvie (Grace), Dwight Ogilvie Jr, (Phyllis), and her infant brothers Danny and David Ogilvie.
Marg worked for almost 20 years at the Kemptville District Hospital and she loved her work and co-workers but she left to pursue her passion which was medical sterile processing. She was a leader in her field and she was known in almost every hospital coast to coast. In 2002 she was awarded a honorary lifetime membership in the MDRAO (Medical Devices Reprocessing Association of Ontario). She finished her career working for Steris Corporation.

Funeral Arrangements

A private family graveside service will be held at South Gower Cemetery.  Donations to Kemptville District Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
