Matt Hayes of Prescott, age 94 passed peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on July 23rd, 2024. Dearly beloved husband of 71 years to Norma Hayes (nee Casselman). Loving father of Karen Hanbury (Charlie predeceased), Doug (Donna), Ryan (Cindy), Heather Hayes, and Lesley Nizman (Mark). Dear brother of Patricia Pankhurst and Blanche Stevens. Predeceased by his siblings; Jack, William, Terrance, Wade, Michael, Lockyer, Charles, Jean, Ann, Sheila, Mary Jane and Henrietta, grandchildren; Kelly, Allison, and Shayne, and great grandson Drew. Sadly, missed by grandchildren; Mattie, Matthew (Megan), Greg (Amanda), Elaine,  Nathaniel (Annalice), Dylan (Jenna), Jacob (Leslie), Ashley (Dylan), Caitlin (Aiden), Aletha, Tye, Austen (Chelsea), great grandchildren;  Stacia, Hayden, Hayley, Quintin, Rochelle, Brodi, Harrison, Quinton, Ava, Levi, Lennon, Eleanor, Hendrik, Theo, Marley, Jude, Everett, Avery, and great great grandchildren; Austyn, Bayleigh as well as many nieces, and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements

A celebration of Matt's life will take place at the St. Paul's United Church in Prescott on Tuesday July 30, with visitation from 12noon until time of the service at the Church at 1pm followed by a reception. Donations to Diabetes Association or the Charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. If you are making your donation online or cheque directly to the charity, please include the following note with your gift "please notify the family."
