Surrounded by family, Peter Schoenfeld of Hallville, passed away peacefully at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Saturday July 29 in his 77th year. Loving husband of Mary Schoenfeld (nee O'Donnell) for 50 years. Proud and loving father of Jason (Cindy) of Inkerman, Natalie Sanna (Rob) of Manotick, and Geoffrey(Nadine Pickard) of Kemptville. Proud Grandpa of Jacob, Jared(Lacy), Justin Schoenfeld; Aslan, Paden, and Brecken Sanna; and Cameron Piitz.  Brother to Dorothea Cooney(Dan) of Calgary and Jo Schoenfeld (Mona) of Calgary.
Peter was born in Berlin, Germany on December 5, 1946. Shortly after his birth Peter and his parents left Germany by ship and relocated to Paraguay, South America.  In 1955, they left South America for Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  Finally in 1971 he moved to Eastern Ontario.
In 1978 Peter and his parents purchased Boyd Bros. Concrete Products in Osgoode.  Peter carried on the family business after his father's passing in 1990.  He was later joined by his two sons and his son-in-law.  He eventually sold the business to his children, but remained a fixture at the company right up until his death.
When Peter wasn't busy at the Concrete Plant, he could probably be found on the golf course.  He was an avid golfer who insisted on walking the course. He will be dearly missed by his family & his many friends at Cedar Glen Golf Course.
The family would like to thank the staff of the WDMH for the exceptional care and compassion given to Peter during his time at the Hospital; as well as the staff at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Center.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.   As per Peter's wishes there will be a private celebration of his life at a later date.  Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com.
