Phyllis "Marlene" Shearer

March 12, 1944 – March 20, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Marlene's passing at the Cornwall community Hospital , on Friday, March 20, 2026. Marlene was a kind soul with deep faith. Her spirit will live on in her family; in countless memories she created. While the time with us is over, her impact was immense. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never be forgotten by her family and friends. Marlene leaves behind her children Harold and Connie Shearer, Thomas and Christine Shearer, Ivan and Tracy Shearer, Lisa and Jody Davidson, her sister Judy and Bill Barnhartd and by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephew and niece.  She was predeceased by her grandparents Percy and Clara Merkley, her parents Harold and Dorothy Merkley, her sister Linda Gail Merkley, brother-in-law Clarence O'Neil, her infant son Anthony and her granddaughter Karen.

Funeral Arrangements

A celebration of Marlene's life will take place at the Riverview Presbyterian Church in Iroquois on Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m. followed by a reception at the church. Donations to ALS, Riverview Presbyterian Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
