"How lucky are we to have loved someone that makes saying 'Goodbye' so hard"

It is with a heavy heart we share the passing of Thomas Michael Brazil. On August 11th 2024 with his family by his side, Tom passed  away peacefully after a well fought battle against cancer. Tom was welcomed to this world by his parents, Tom Sr. and Edith (Atkins) Brazil on June 21st, 1952 in St. John's Newfoundland.

In his life, Tom served in the Royal Canadian Navy, worked as a lighthouse keeper, just like his father before him, before finding his true calling as an accomplished carpenter.

Leaving behind to carry on his hopes and dreams are his loving wife, Sharon Ann (Lahey) and proud daughters. Jillian (Chris Gauthier), Krista, Tomie (Craig Dillabough) and Brittany (Kyle Hattan). His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Alice, who awaits him in heaven, Finlay and Audrey Gauthier, and Collin, Nicholas and Lucas Dillabough. Left to continue sharing his stories are his siblings, Linda (Gord Pendergast) Trish (Dan McIsaac) Dave (Ginny Brazil) Joe (Val Brazil) and his many nieces and nephews. Tom found comfort in knowing he would be reunited with his parents and brother who was also his partner in crime, Fox Brazil, along with his precious granddaughter. The family would like to extend a heart filled 'Thank you' to Dr Greene, Dr Cook, Dr McGee, and the Bayshore HealthCare team. Especially his niece, Michelle Lahey, for her guidance and support. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Kemptville on Monday, August 19 at 10:30am followed by a reception at the Church. Donations can be made to the Cancer Society and CHEO. If you are making your donation online or by cheque directly to the charity, please include the following note with your gift "please notify the family." Arrangements entrusted to the Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home Cardinal. Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com.
